📌 Caretaker FAQs (Free-to-Play)


Can I play Footium for free?

Yes. Choose Play for Free as a Caretaker when creating your account. You’ll manage a club for one full season without paying.


How do I know if I’ve successfully applied as a Caretaker?

If you selected the Caretaker path and submitted, you’ll receive a confirmation email.

This means you’re on the list for the next season.


When will I get my free club?

You’ll be assigned a club when the next season begins.

Before that, nothing is missing — your club just isn’t assigned yet.


Where can I see when the next season is starting?

Check any of:

  • Your confirmation email
  • Discord → #announcements
  • @Footium on X


What do I do while I wait for the season to start?

Just **wait for the assignment email, **we’ll notify you automatically.


Do I keep the club forever as a Caretaker?

No, but you can earn full ownership if you perform well and stay engaged throughout the season.


Can I switch to owning a club later?

Yes, you can upgrade to a Starter Bundle at any point.



🎁 Starter Bundle FAQs (Owning a Club)


Do I need existing crypto to buy a club?

No. You can pay with your card directly in-game.


What happens after I buy a Starter Bundle?

Your club will be processed and assigned to your account.

This usually takes up to 2 working days.


How will I know when my club is ready?

You’ll get an email telling you it’s live, plus your season start date.


Can I use my players straight away?

Yes. Once assigned, your 17-player squad is available to manage immediately.


When does my first season start?

You’ll enter the next upcoming season.

Dates are always announced via:

  • Email
  • Discord announcements
  • @Footium


Can I earn rewards as a club owner?

Yes. Rewards are based on your final league position each season.


❓General FAQ's


🏋️‍♂️ I can’t train my player

Check:

  • Player will finish above 20% condition after training.
  • Training is open (during active season).
  • Player isn’t already in training/coaching.
  • You clicked Finish on any previous session.

Heads-up (rounding at 45%)

If a player shows 45%, they may actually be slightly under due to rounding. Rest them or wait a matchday and try again.


🎓 I can’t mint my academy player

Check:

  • You have enough ETH on Arbitrum for gas and minting costs.
  • Wallet is connected and on Arbitrum.
  • Use the Academy tab to mint.


🛡 I can’t register the player I just bought

Check:

  • Registration window is open:
    • Unlimited (pre/post-season) = no limits.
    • Limited (mid-season) = small number of unregistrations allowed.
  • The player is unregistered/free agent. If they’re registered at another club, you must wait until they’re unregistered (or next unlimited window).


🧑‍🏫 I can’t buy/use a Coaching Session

Check:

  • You’re signed in with the club-owning wallet.
  • Buy via the Store → Coaching Sessions.
  • Coaching works during the active season.
  • You have enough ETH on Arbitrum for gas and costs.


🛒 I bought a player but can’t see them in-game

Check:

  • The transaction succeeded.
  • Refresh your Players page.
  • Look under Transfers (may sit in Unregistered).
  • If the player is registered at another club, they’ll stay there until unregistered or the next unlimited window.


🧾 I can’t claim my rewards

Check:

  • Rewards become claimable next season.
  • Club must be Active (did one of: set a line-up, mint academy player, register a player, make a live change, or train a player).
  • Claim from your Club Home once the season starts.
  • Unclaimed after one season → moved to Unassigned per policy.


🧪 I can’t set a line-up / matches feel broken

First steps:

  • Refresh the page and try again.
  • If it looks system-wide (e.g., tactics/registration down), we may pause matches and give 24h notice before resuming (see Game Rules & Downtime).
