Want to dive into Footium? Here's how to go from zero to managing your own club in just a few minutes.
Step 1 - Create Your Account
Head to footium.club/game/signup and sign in using:
- X (Twitter)
When you sign in, Footium automatically creates a secure account for you. You do not need to install anything extra to begin.
Step 2 - Choose Your Club
After signing in, you'll be shown four clubs to choose from. Pick the one you like and you'll start managing it immediately as a Caretaker Manager.
No queue, no waiting. You're in.
Step 3 - Play as a Caretaker Manager (Free)
As a Caretaker Manager, you can:
- Set your lineup, formation, tactics and captain
- Make tactical decisions before and during matches
- Compete in one match per day against real managers
- Complete caretaker objectives to learn the game's core mechanics (expanded in Season 17)
At the end of each season, you go through a simple continuation flow. You can choose to keep managing the same club or pick a different one. The transition is seamless, no downtime or maintenance mode.
Step 4 - Upgrade to Club Owner (Optional)
If you want permanent ownership and full access, you can upgrade at any time via card payment. There are two options:

Club Only | $20 | Permanent ownership of your club. Your existing squad carries over. |
Full Upgrade | $80 | Permanent ownership + a 17-player squad to strengthen your team immediately. |
Ownership unlocks:
- Eligibility for season rewards (real money + FC)
- Access to the transfer market (buying and selling players)
- Full access to the academy, training, and all management features
Step 5 - Begin Your Season
Footium seasons run in real time.
- One league match takes place each day
- You can adjust your tactics and lineup between matches
- You can make live substitutions and tactical changes during matches
- Training, transfers and squad improvements happen between matchdays
Your performance across the season determines your league position, whether you're promoted or relegated, and your eligibility for rewards.
Seasons run on set schedules. If you're joining between seasons, your club will be placed into the next upcoming season and you'll be notified via email.
