๐ Become a Club Owner
Becoming a Club Owner is the permanent route in Footium. It gives you long-term control of your club, unlocks deeper progression, and lets you build across seasons rather than simply managing as a free Caretaker.
You can start Footium for free, learn the game as a Caretaker Manager, and upgrade later if you decide you want full ownership.
What ownership means
As a Club Owner, your club becomes a long-term project. You can shape its future through squad building, academy development, training, transfers, stadium upgrades, and seasonal competition.
Ownership can unlock features such as:
- Permanent control of your club
- Long-term club progression
- Full access to ownership systems
- Academy development
- Transfer market access
- Eligibility for seasonal cash rewards, if the club meets the active and eligibility requirements
- More strategic control over your squad and resources
The exact features included with each purchase option may vary, so always check the in-game store before buying.
Current ownership options
Footiumโs store options can change over time, so the in-game store is always the source of truth before you buy.
Current ownership options are:
- Club-only upgrade: $20, no players included
- Starter Bundle: $79.99, includes 25 players including bronze players
Older guides may refer to previous bundles or seasonal offers. If anything conflicts with the store, use the store.
Why become an owner?
The biggest reason is permanence. As a Caretaker, you can manage and learn for free, but ownership is for managers who want to build something lasting.
A Club Owner can plan across multiple seasons. You might invest in youth development, train a young player into a specialist, upgrade your stadium to improve home performance and FC earning, use the transfer market to fix weak positions, or build a squad identity around stamina, leadership, chemistry, or tactical flexibility.
Footium rewards managers who think beyond one match. A season has 22 matches, and decisions build up over time. Resting a player today might avoid an injury tomorrow. Training a prospect in the right position might give you a better starter in two seasons. Upgrading the right academy facility might improve future intakes.
Ownership and rewards
Footium has a seasonal rewards system for eligible Club Owners. Rewards are connected to competitive performance and active participation.
Important points from the game guide include:
- Top positions in leagues can receive cash rewards
- Some positions may receive FC instead, depending on division and reward rules
- Reward structures can change to keep the system sustainable
- Owners must meet eligibility requirements to claim rewards
- Clubs may need to be active during the season
Active club actions listed in the guide include setting a line-up, signing an academy player, registering a player, making a live match change, or training a player.
If you are aiming for rewards, do not leave your club inactive. Make meaningful actions during the season and follow the latest reward announcements.
What changes after buying?
After upgrading, your priorities usually expand. Instead of only preparing the next match, you may start thinking about:
- Which players are worth developing
- Whether your squad has enough depth
- Which positions need transfers
- How your academy should be upgraded
- How much FC to save for stadium or facility improvements
- When to use coaching sessions
- How promotion or relegation affects your plans
Most competitive clubs operate with squad depth so they can rotate, cover injuries, and develop players. The game guide notes that many competitive clubs use around 23 to 30 players, but your ideal squad depends on your tactics, resources, and division.
Before you buy
Before becoming a Club Owner, check:
- The current store offer
- Whether players are included
- Whether any included players are tradable or restricted
- What FC, coaching, or other extras are included, if any
- The current season timing
- Current reward and eligibility rules
Ownership is best when you know what you are buying and have a plan for your first season.
