✨ Create an account and choose your club

Getting started in Footium is quick. You can create an account, choose a club, and begin managing without needing extra software or complicated setup.

Everyone starts the same way. You sign up, pick from four available clubs, and enter the game as a Caretaker Manager. From there, you can set tactics, manage matches, complete objectives, and decide later whether you want to upgrade to permanent club ownership.

Step 1: Go to the signup page

Head to:

You can also reach the game from the main Footium site and follow the prompts to sign up.

Step 2: Choose how to sign in

Footium supports simple account creation. The current guide lists these sign-in options:

• Google
• X, formerly Twitter
• Email

Choose the method you are most comfortable using. If you use email, make sure you can access that inbox, as it may be used for account verification, updates, reminders, and other account-related messages.

Once you are in the game, it is worth visiting your Manager Settings page early:

From Manager Settings you can:

• Set your manager name
• Link and verify your email address
• Manage marketing email preferences
• Choose your display currency

If you want to receive season updates, kick-off reminders, and your end-of-season Wrapped, make sure your email is linked and your preferences are set correctly.

Step 3: Choose your club

After signing up, you will be shown four available clubs. Pick the one you like best.

There is no perfect first choice for every manager. You might prefer a club because of its name, badge, league situation, squad, or simply because it feels right. As a new player, the most important thing is to get into the game and start learning.

If you are starting as a Caretaker Manager, you are not making a permanent purchase at this stage. You can manage the club for the season and then go through the continuation flow at the end of the season, where you may be able to continue with the same club or choose a different one.

Step 4: Land in your club hub

Once you have chosen your club, you can begin managing immediately. A good first checklist is:

1. Open your club page and look around
2. Check your squad on the Players page
3. Visit Tactics and set a line-up
4. Choose a formation that fits your players
5. Pick a captain with strong leadership
6. Check Fixtures to see your next match
7. Claim any available daily FC on your homepage
8. Look at objectives and milestones

Milestones are especially useful for new managers because they teach the game through actions rather than long explanations. They can ask you to set a line-up, train or coach players, make live match changes, upgrade a stadium stand, win matches, or claim rewards.

Things to check before your first match

Before kick-off, make sure your line-up is complete. If your club fields an ineligible team, such as missing players in required slots or using a player who cannot play, you can miss out on FC from that match.

Also check condition. Players lose condition during matches, and condition affects injury risk after matches. A player who finishes at or below 65% condition has a chance of picking up an injury, with the risk rising sharply as condition gets lower.

As a free Caretaker, you can manage for the season and learn how Footium works. If you decide you want permanent control, you can upgrade through the in-game store. Current ownership bundles can change, so always check the store for the latest options before buying.
